Marybel Meier

Marybel Meier is from Lima-Peru, first studied flamenco under Lourdes Carlin at "Alma Gitana" Escuela de Flamenco in Barranco, Peru where she also studied Peruvian folkloric dances. She is a member of the Tania Tandias Flamenco & Spanish Dance Co. She recently joined a new Afro-Peruvian dance group based in Madison. She has been studying with Tania Tandias since 2006 and continues to do so. She has participated in workshops by guest instructors Danica Sena, Emilio Ochando, Adrian Santana, Ivan Vargas among others. Marybel has participated in the Festival Flamenco International de Albuquerque where she took workshops from Vanessa Coloma, Jesus Carmona and Farruquito. She also took classes at the very famous Festival de Jerez in Spain learning from Andres Pena, Manuel Betanzos. Marybel has danced in festivals, school shows, private parties, in pieces for Madison Opera, Kanopy Dance Company, Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra.
